The Royal Mod II Esprit De Corp. The Royal Mod II by Esprit de Corp is a mod for Yuri's Revenge that endeavours to be both an enhancement and a replacement for the original. The Royal Mod II adds many new features to the game, including: - A new world map with additional areas for exploration. - New up-gradable weapons and powerups. It also gives players access to a superpowered ship plus several different playable pilots along with an enhanced AI for the computer controlled allies. The Royal Mod II is a fully featured mod for Yuri's Revenge. It adheres very closely to the original game's gameplay and is a great improvement in many areas. Being an entirely new mod, The Royal Mod II adds a number of new features that will not be found in the original. The main point of difference between the two however, is that The Royal Mod II does not require Yuri's Revenge. In fact, Yuri's Revenge does nothing directly to take advantage of any of these new features. As such, Yuri can take part in multiplayer games without requiring a copy of The Royal Mod II installed on the same machine. The mod is rather large in size, requiring just under 16GB of hard drive space. It will install to Yuri's Revenge with no problem when put into the directory that the original game is already in. When using an older version of Windows, it will be necessary to enable 'unattended setup' in order to install the mod for Yuri's Revenge with no intervention from the user. If Yuri's Revenge was installed outside this folder, it will simply boost any existing graphics with some nice effects. As there are many new items in The Royal Mod II compared to the original game, there are also new requirements for them. In order to access these new tools and weapons, it is no longer enough just to have a single beam cannon. Instead, players will need a ship with a higher level. The Royal Mod II also ships with a super-powered ship known as a Sentinel Ship. This is a weaponised vessel intended for use in the original game, but not featured in it. As such, it can be used in any of the many maps included for multiplayer games. In order to access this ship, players must travel to the Enhanced Map before they can gain access. Included in The Royal Mod II are several new characters that could also be considered playable pilots from their ships.
